Have you ever played the game? You know…THE game? The one where you play god?
In this message, T.J. Carlson, the associate pastor at MCC (formerly the youth pastor) digs into the second half of James 4 and shows how we can get off focus by playing “the game”.
Take a listen…you’re sure to be encouraged, challenged and walk away wanting to “end the games”.

Have you ever heard a child say, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me!”
Well, last week we learned that words CAN hurt…they can also heal, depending on how we use them.
Or maybe you’ve heard this one: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, and words may hurt, but your attitude’s a killer!”
As we continue through our “REAL FAITH” series, we discover that God is concerned with the motives and attitudes of our heart, just as much (if not more) than the words of our mouth or the deeds of our hands.
Digging into James again, beginning at chapter 3 verse 13 and reading through chapter 4 verse 10, Pastor Joe helps us understand how important our attitudes are to God. Please join us as we seek God’s truth for our lives!

Would you be willing to walk around with a sharpened blade between your teeth?
How about a mouthful of poison?
This week, as our “REAL FAITH” series continues, we discover that if we don’t pay careful attention to our tongue we can potentially be playing with a dangerous, even deadly, tool…without even realizing it!
Pastor Joe uses James 3:1-12 to help us understand just how powerful our words really are. Join us for this thought-provoking and vitally important message!

In August, two wonderful men of God and dear friends here at Morningside left their earthly homes to begin their new life with Jesus in Heaven.
Lyle Stewart and Calvin Kinner will be forever loved and greatly missed!
Until each of us are called to join them in our eternal home with our Lord Jesus, we honor them and offer their families our loving prayers and support.
Please continue to lift up Aline Stewart and Joyce Kinner as they continue to adjust to living with the void that their wonderful husbands have left behind.
(NOTE: Because of limited space, the recordings of Lyle and Calvin’s funerals have been removed from the website. However, if you would like a copy of either of these on CD or mp3, please contact Pastor Tim. Thank you for your interest and your understanding; we apologize for any inconvenience!)

Did you look in the mirror today?
Did you see Jesus?
As we continue our study of faith in the book of James, Pastor Joe jumps over the first section of chapter two (don’t worry, we’ll come back to it next week!) and picks up at verses 14 -26.
Join us as we take another deeper look at this fascinating book!
