Chester Larsen ~ In Remembrance

Chester L. Larsen was born on April 27, 1917 in Dell Rapids, SD the son of Wilhelm and Anna (Christiansen) Larsen.   He died on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the White Care Center in White, SD at the age of 89.

Chester received his education in a rural school near Arlington, SD.   He was employed by Western Union in Chicago and then worked for the Bibby Creamery in Brookings, SD before he met and married Dorothy Tellinghuisen on April 4, 1947 in Brookings, SD.   He then began farming in Argo Township and continued to farm until his retirement in 1990 due to health reasons.

Chester was a longtime member of Morningside Community Church.   He also served on the Argo #53 School Board.   He enjoyed hunting and especially spending time with family and friends.

Chester is survived by his wife Dorothy of White, SD; their three sons – Richard (Roberta) of White, SD, Randy (Renee) of Arlington, SD and Steven of White, SD; one daughter – Lorene Lauseng of Junction City, KS; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother – Ronald Larsen (Nancy) of New Ulm, MN.

Chester was proceeded in death by his parents, his daughter Karen, his brother Ralph and his sister Marjorie.
