Just Like Him – a Father’s Day Message

posted in Sermons |

This week Pastor Joe takes a break from his  11-part series, “God’s Blueprint for Church”, to bring a heartwarming message for Father’s Day.

Different from any other message he has ever given before, this message on Father’s Day consisted of Pastor Joe reading a number of stories (from Dr. Dobson’s book, “A Father, A Hero”) mixed with a number of touching songs.

Because of the  style of this message we have only put the first 15 minute introduction to the message here for download.   (With all the stories and songs, this message comes out to just under one hour in length!)   However, if you contact us (Pastor Tim), we are more than willing to mail you this message on CD (16 tracks in total)!

If you want to bless the  Dads, Grandfathers, and other men  in your life…or if you are a father and need to some encouraging words from time to time…please contact us for a copy of this message (you will be glad you did!)

Just Like Him, track  #1 – Introduction  - Pastor Joe begins his message for fathers.   The entire message was recorded  live on Father’s Day, Sunday,  June 17, 2007.

Just Like Him, track #2 – Good Wives’ Guide
Pastor Joe reads a portion from the May 1955 edition of Houskeeping Monthly on how  a wife should treat her husband.   The entire message was recorded  live on Father’s Day, Sunday,  June 17, 2007.

Just Like Him, track #3 – Respect and Love
Before jumping into the main section of the message, Pastor Joe uses Ephesians 5 to explain the difference between respect and love and to point out how much men need to know that they are respected.   The entire message was recorded  live on Father’s Day,  June 17, 2007.

At the end of the message Pastor Joe put two things up on the screen, these are both here for you to download:

  • A touching “Calvin and Hobbes” comic strip of Calvin with his Dad
    Calvin and his Dad
  • A video of an Army Dad surprising his son at school
after being overseas for 7 months.

After this message was over there were very few dry eyes in the room.   Our hope and prayer is that if you are a father, you too would be encouraged and blessed by this message to continue striving to be the best father you can be…and if you have a father our prayer is that you would be encouraged and challenged to give your father the respect, love and honor that he deserves!   And may we all give our Heavenly Father the respect, love, honor and praise that He deserves!   Grace to all of you in this endeavor!

Again, if you would like a copy of this message,  any other individual messages, or an entire series on either audio CD, or mp3 CD, or sent to you as downloadable mp3 files…please do not hesitate to ask!   You can contact  Pastor Tim for more info!
