Recently, at Kids Club, after hearing a story about Nicodemus and Jesus and when asked what being “reborn†meant, an eager pre-school student raised her hand and said, “Oh…Oh…I know!†With all of the excitement in her voice, I just couldn’t help but call on her to tell me what she thought being “reborn†meant. With a big smile on her face, she eagerly replied, “It means you have a belly button!†This, of course, was not the answer that I was looking for, and it was very hard not to giggle… Read the rest of this entry »

O… don’t be a baby! We are all familiar with this phrase aren’t we? It is that insulting phrase that is some how meant to encourage you to get it together and be strong (“Be a manâ€, “Cowboy Upâ€, “Tough’n Upâ€). Well… this last weekend and into Monday my family was sick. Madeline got sick first with all the junk coming out of both ends. She would throw up and then go back to playing! It was amazing. I was hoping that if I caught it that would be my attitude and physical feeling. That wouldn’t be the case for me; Instead of being like my baby… I was being a man… a very sick man. I woke up on Monday not feeling so good, but I was optimistic that it would pass quickly, but instead I felt worse and worse and I ended up feeling horrible the whole day through until at least 7PM.
